Henderson State improved to 2-0 in Gulf South Conference action by defeating the Cotton Blossoms of Arkansas-Monticello in the GSC "Match of the Week".

In the third edition of the CSTV/AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll, the University of West Florida volleyball team recieved votes.

The Argonauts are 13-2 on the season, having won four straight matches heading into conference play.

West Alabama Downs Montevallo In First Ever GSC "Match Of The Week"

West Alabama picked up its first conference win Tuesday night, defeating Montevallo 3-1 in the first ever GSC volleyball "Match of the Week".

This road victory moves West Alabama to 12-0 on the season and 1-0 in the GSC, the only unblemished team in the league. Montevallo falls to 3-11 on the year, and 0-1 in league action.

For the first time ever in the sport of volleyball, the Gulf South Conference will feature a "Match of the Week" in 2007. The GSC will highlight teams around the conference throughout the volleyball season, spotlighting one match per week.

The release will take a look at the history of the matchup, along with quotes from coaches and player profiles.

Defending GSC champion North Alabama opens the season in the AVCA top 10, claiming the number nine spot in the publications' pre-season poll.

UNA finished the 2006 season with a 34-6 record and advanced to the NCAA Championship Match.
