VSU hosts UWF in South Region #2

Birmingham, AL—The Gulf South Conference moved two teams were selected to compete in the 2009 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Regionals.

Regional competition runs from May 7-9 and will take place at two sites. Valdosta State earned the right to host the five-team South Region #2, which also features GSC Champion and East Division rival West Florida. UWF (19-7) plays Florida Southern (15-6) on Day Two of the regional, while VSU (13-4) will battle the winner of Day One's lone match between Nova Southeastern (16-7) and Tuskegee (21-7).

Lynn University hosts the South Region #1 which features three other Sunshine State Conference schools and NCAA Independent Flagler.

The winners of each of South Regional events advance to the NCAA Championships, May 13-16 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, FL.
